The Renegades Next Opponent Fires Their Defensive Coordinator After One Game

The Dallas Renegades will look to bounce back from their week one loss on Sunday against the LA Wildcats. Things may have gotten a little more interesting as news recently broke that the LA Wildcats have fired their defensive coordinator Pepper Johnson.

This news comes directly from the Wildcats General Manager and Head Coach Winston Moss. There has not yet been a report on the replacement for Johnson.

The Wildcats gave up more points than anyone in the XFL during week one. They allowed the Houston Roughnecks to score 37 points, while the LA offense only produced 17. They gave up four touchdowns through the air, and allowed the Roughnecks to score on 75% of their trips to the red zone.

The Renegades struggled on offense in their season opener, so this should be an excellent opportunity to gain some momentum. Renegades offensive coordinator Hal Mumme loves to move the ball through the air, and passing defense is clearly not the strong suit of this LA Wildcats team. It might be safe to say we will see a much improved offensive look from Dallas this weekend.
