Oklahoma Softball | Hansen & Flores Go Yard In 6-1 Win

Oklahoma continued their weekend run with a —– victory over Murray State in Saturday’s first game.

Grace Lyons crossed home plate in the bottom of the first when Kinzie Hansen brought her in on a sacrifice to left field. That duo produced again in the third inning when Lyons stole home and was followed up by a bomb to center field from Hansen to make it a 3-0 score.

Alycia Flores put two more runs on the board with her first career home run. Her shot to left-center field also scored Kinsey Koeltzow, making it a 5-0 lead.

Oklahoma’s sixth, and final run, came in the bottom of the fifth when Lynnsie Elam scored on a wild pitch.

From the circle, redshirt freshman Brooke Vestal was spectacular. She held the Racers scoreless until the top of the sixth when Murray State pushed across their only run. Vestal struck out eight batters and allowed just three hits to improve her season record to 3-0.

The Sooners will complete their four games in two days weekend with Missouri State on Saturday evening.
