Oklahoma Basketball | Three Sooners Receive Conference Honors

Three Oklahoma basketball players received recognition from the Big 12 Conference on Sunday, led by senior forward Kristian Doolittle who was named to the All-Big 12 First Team.

Doolittle averaged 15.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game this season. He enters the postseason ranked fourth in the league in both points and rebounds.

He becomes the 10th Sooner to earn All-Big 12 First Team recognition since the league was formed in 1996. He joins Corey Brewer, Eduardo Najera, Aaron McGhee, Hollis Price (twice), Taj Gray, Blake Griffin (twice), Romero Osby, Buddy Hield (twice) and Trae Young.

Junior forward Brady Manek was an All-Big 12 Third Team selection. He averaged 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game and is eighth in the conference in scoring.

Saturday’s hero, Austin Reaves, was selected to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team along with earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. He ranks sixth in the league in scoring with 14.7 points while also averaging 5.3 points and 3.0 assists.

Together these three make up the top scoring trio in the Big 12. All three ranked in the top eight in scoring in the Big 12. Oklahoma is joined by Alabama and Arkansas as the only major-conference teams with three players averaging at least 14 points.
