In the current climate, recruiting entered what could be described as a dead period. However, it hasn’t stopped the Oklahoma Sooners from evaluating talent from across the country. Focusing in on a couple of defensive prospects, two players from the South caught the attention of the coaching staff.

Receiving the first scholarship offer of the day, Ian Jackson announced the move on Twitter. An outside linebacker, the Alabama native stands 6-1 as a junior in high school. Rated as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports, Jackson holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, and now Oklahoma.

In a similar situation, Alfonzo Allen also introduced himself as a recipient of a scholarship offer from the Sooners. A safety out of Florida, the 6-0 junior is rated as a 4-star recruit as well. Holding offers from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Florida already, Oklahoma becomes the latest addition to a growing list.
