Lincoln Riley On Jadon Haselwood – “We Absolutely Expect He’ll Play This Season”

Lincoln Riley dropped a nugget of news on Tuesday that made ears perk up all across Sooner Nation. Oklahoma’s head coach said that he “absolutely” expects to see sophomore receiver Jadon Haselwood on the field this season.

A member of Oklahoma’s 2019 recruiting class, Haselwood was a 5-star receiver who was rated as the top pass catcher in the class of 2019. After catching 19 passes (for 272 yards and a touchdown) as a freshman Haselwood suffered an injury last April following the cancelation of spring practice.

Social media posts of Haselwood rehabbing what was initially reported as a torn ACL injury has had fans wondering for several weeks if he was progressing quicker than expected. Riley admitted on Tuesday that was truly the case and he expects to see him on the field this fall.

“Jadon has done really well and progressing very quickly,” Riley said. “We absolutely expect that he’ll be available to play for us at some point this year.”
