Oklahoma Football | Marvin Mims Receives Multiple Conference Awards

Marvin Mims had himself a day in Fort Worth on Saturday. Oklahoma’s standout freshman receiver recorded a career-high 132 yards on four catches, with two touchdowns to lead the Sooners to a 33-14 win over TCU. His receptions went for 10 yards, 50 yards (TD), 11 yards and 61 yards (TD). Mims also returned two punts for 42 yards (long of 38) and a kickoff for 19 yards to set a new career-high in all-purpose yards with 193.

On Monday the Big 12 awarded Mims with co-Offensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week for his efforts.

This is the first career weekly Big 12 honor for Mims and the fifth of the season for an Oklahoma player. Quarterback Spencer Rattler was named Newcomer of the Week and kicker Stephen Johnson was named Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 14 while running back T.J. Pledger  was named Offensive Player of the Week and David Ugwoegbu was named the Special Teams Player of the Week on Oct. 12.
