Spencer Rattler and Ronnie Perkins swept the Big 12 weekly awards for Week 11 of the college football season. Rattler earned the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week awards, while Perkins was named Defensive Player of the Week.
The puppet master for Oklahoma’s offense in Saturday night’s 41-13 Bedlam domination, Rattler performed masterfully. The redshirt freshman completed 17-of-24 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns. In doing so, Rattler became the first quarterback to throw for over 300 yards against Oklahoma State’s defense. Rattler also ran for a touchdown giving him five total scores on the night.
Perkins was dominant on the defensive side of the ball, finishing the game with with five tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. This is the second individual conference award for Rattler this season and the seventh overall for the Sooners.
The newcomer honor is the second for Rattler this season, while the offensive award is his first. This is Perkins’ first career accolade. On the year Oklahoma has nine individual awards given by the conference.
