Entering 2021, the backend of the defense appeared young but talented with a few experienced pieces. However, Brendan Radley-Hiles is reported entering the transfer portal after three season with the Oklahoma Sooners.
Racking up 115 tackles during the same time span, the defensive back also accounted for nine tackles for loss. Most notable, Radley-Hiles recorded a defensive touchdown alongside three interceptions and one forced fumble. Now confirmed as exploring other locations, “Bookie’s” name may not officially show up in the transfer portal for another 24-48 hours.
Many expected incoming transfer, Key Lawrence to push the talents and natural abilities of Radley-Hiles. That will not be the case as depth and experience at the nickelback position are once again in question.
In the bowl game, Tre Norwood was listed as the starting NB with Radley-Hiles rounding out the two-deep. At the close of the year, Norwood opted to enter the NFL Draft while riding a high note. Without either name on the roster, there is virtually no returning or expected starter.
