Oklahoma Sooners Drop Three Spots In Latest AP Poll

After a meteoric rise in the rankings, the Oklahoma Sooners appear to have leveled off. Previously, the program held a spot in the top ten before suffering a loss on the road to a ranked conference foe. The set back played the biggest role for OU in the most recent AP Poll.

Clearly playing in the most difficult conference in America, the Sooners check in at No. 12 this week. Now, afforded a time of rest due to the midweek game being postponed, Alondes Williams hopes to rejoin the effort. There are no weeks off though as OU must prepare for a top fifteen showdown with the No. 14 West Virginia Mountaineers.

Looking at the rest of the Big XII, Texas Tech jump up to No. 7 after a narrow win over the Sooners. It’s a climb of six spots for the Red Raiders who also dismantled unbanked KSU in the process. Joining the top twenty-five, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are making a debut with Cade Cunningham leading the charge. The young star has the biggest name in all of college basketball and will continue to pull the attention toward OSU.

With 60% of the league finding a way into the rankings during the month of February, it’s hard to imagine less than seven teams earning NCAA bids.
