Oklahoma punched its ticket to the regional finals on Saturday afternoon with a 7-5 win over Wichita State in a slugfest. That sent the Shockers back down into the elimination bracket where they survived Texas A&M after the Aggies had eliminated Morgan State in the day’s second game.

Holding true to their #2 seed in the Norman Regional, Wichita State sent Texas A&M packing and will face Oklahoma once again on Sunday in the finals. The Shockers will need to beat the Sooners twice on Sunday in order to advance to the super regional while OU only needs one more win to advance.

Catching Up With The Seattle Regional
Michigan took the inside track to face the winner of the Norman Regional by beating the Seattle Regional host in a pitcher’s duel. The Wolverines and Huskies were scoreless through five innings until a pair of solo home runs in the top of the sixth broke the gridlock. Washington got one in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run of their own but it was too little too late as Michigan edged their way into the regional finals.

Like Wichita State, Washington didn’t have any trouble bouncing back from a loss earlier in the day . The Huskies shutout Seattle in the evening’s final elimination game to advance to Sunday. Also like Wichita State, they will have to win twice on Sunday to advance while Michigan will only need to win once to earn the opportunity to face the winner of the Norman Regional.
