This Week’s Picks

Craig

Michigan at Nebraska | I think Michigan is in some real trouble in this one. The Cornhuskers have shown a ton of improvement this season. It isn’t going to be easy for the Wolverines to go into Lincoln and come out with a win. Give me Nebraska with the upset here.

Notre Dame at Virginia Tech | I like the Hokies to win this one. Notre Dame is coming off of a tough loss to Cincinnati and now they have to go into one of the tougher environments in college football.

Penn State at Iowa | With a spread this small you’re basically picking the winner here. I think the Hawkeyes come out with the victory because they have the better defense. This Iowa team is hard to score points on.

Matt

Boise State at BYU | This may be the week that injuries at the quarterback position catch up with BYU. The Cougars were down to their third string signal caller last week against Utah State and if starter Jaren Hall isn’t back on Saturday then it could be upset alert time. Regardless, I think Boise has the ability to keep this one close throughout.

Stanford at Arizona State | Stanford is coming off a monumental upset of Oregon last week and Arizona State scored a comfortable win over UCLA as well. This game sets up to be huge in the Pac-12 championship hunt but give me Jayden Daniels and the Sun Devil offense to get the job done but the Stanford defense to do just enough to keep this around a 10 point game.

Temple at Cincinnati | There’s the potential for a Cincinnati letdown here. Why I don’t think that’ll happen I do believe that it’s entirely possible that the Bearcats can win comfortably and still not cover a 29.5 point spread.

Zack

Oklahoma/Texas | Oklahoma fans—many of them, not all—have been critical of the Sooners all season long, and for mostly good reasons. Meanwhile, Texas fans think their beloved Longhorns are indeed “back.” I’m not buying it. I still think Oklahoma has one of the most talented rosters in the country, and poor play so far or not, they could flip the switch at any moment. This is not going to be a game decided by a field goal.

Temple at Cincinnati | Cincinnati had a nice win over Notre Dame, but besides that, what have they really done to earn a no. 6 ranking? This seems like a trap game. I don’t think Temple is actually going to pull off the upset, but I could see it somehow being a lot closer than a 30-point blowout. I’m taking the Owls to cover the spread.

Coastal Carolina at Arkansas State | I wouldn’t say that I’m sold on the Chanticleers, at least not yet, but Arkansas State is really not very good, so I’m sure Coastal Carolina can win this one by 20+
