Oklahoma Sooners Football | Marcus Major Deemed Eligible According to Reports

In August, news began circulating of running back Marcus Major being ruled academically ineligible. Dealing an immediate blow to the depth and talent at the position, the Oklahoma Sooners marched on with two scholarship backs on the roster.

Claiming five wins without the availability of the local product, it appears as though the situation is rapidly changing. Just in time for the Red River Rivalry, the NCAA has reportedly cleared Major to take the field once again.

In ten appearances last season, the running back racked up 187 yards an three touchdowns. The stats may not be eye-popping but adding yet another viable ball carrier to the mix cannot be overstated. At 5-11 and 220-pounds, there’s a big body with plenty of potential. He’s not a player to sleep on. Yet, Major must work his way back into the rotation.

Is it possible that Lincoln Riley will work the talented running back into the game play as Oklahoma and the Texas Longhorns square off in the Cotton Bowl?
