4 Predictions Favor Oklahoma Sooners For 4-Star Athlete In 2022 Recruiting Class

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up two commitments for the 2022 recruiting cycle in the month of October. Now, the program is eyeing yet another prospect in Azareyeh Thomas out of Niceville, Florida.

As a 4-star recruit, Thomas has began to separate himself in the Sunshine State as a top receiver in the class. However, most universities interested in the talented young player envision Thomas as a defensive back at the next level. A rangy defender with lengthy arms has the ability to eliminate certain throws almost immediately. However, it’s the length of Thomas that could easily turn various opportunities into turnovers. Despite being a bit of a raw player, Thomas has the tools that college coaches can mold and shape allowing the athlete to develop into a regular contributor on the defensive side of the ball.

Originally thought to be headed to LSU back in June, the equation has changed fairly quickly for Thomas. After taking an official visit to Norman on October 16th, four predictions from recruiting experts now believe the Sooners hold an edge over all other suitors.

While the recruitment process isn’t over for Thomas, it’s nice to hear that a mutual interest exists between Oklahoma and the athlete.
