As rumors started to heat up over the last few hours it was looking more and more likely that we would see a Williams announcement coming. To many this comes as no surprise. When you’re the most highly touted recruit at your position you deserve to have options. Don’t listen to the casual fan opinion here. Opening up his options and seeing what’s best for his future is the right move to make.
I also think it’s important to note that Williams mentioned staying at Oklahoma is still an option. There’s no doubt that keeping Williams at Oklahoma is crucial. If you had any doubts about that here’s a statement from Athletic Director Joe Castiglione and Head Coach Brent Venables.

I wouldn’t expect this decision to take more than a couple of weeks. I would love nothing more than to see Caleb Williams return for the Sooners. With that in mind, let’s remember he owes Oklahoma nothing. He was put in a very tough situation and came back for a bowl game to help his teammates and Sooner Nation. Whatever he decides, we wish him nothing but the best.
