Notes & Storylines

  • In Oklahoma’s first game against then No. 1 Baylor, the Sooners shot 55.8% from the field (29-52) and tallied a season-high 14 steals. It was the first Sooner loss when shooting 50.0% or greater from the field since the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament against Gonzaga.
  • The Sooners are second in the Big 12 and 12th nationally in field goal percentage (49.5%). According to KenPom, Oklahoma is third in the nation in two-point field goal percentage (59.6%) and 13th in effective field-goal percentage (56.2).
  • Tanner Groves is first in the Big 12 and 47th nationally in field goal percentage (55.1). Umoja Gibson is first in the Big 12 in 3-pointers attempted (120) and second in threes made (45).
  • Oklahoma and Baylor will meet for the second time this season and second time in 19 days. The Bears won the first meeting in Waco, Texas 84-74.
  • Senior guard Umoja Gibson is from Waco, Texas. In the Jan. 4 meeting, Gibson scored 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting and added five assists, four steals and a rebound.
