Watch | Oklahoma QB Commit Jackson Arnold Flashes Arm Strength, Precision, & Speed In Season Opener

Oklahoma’s 2023 quarterback commit Jackson Arnold wasted no time showing why he deserved the 5th star that 247Sports granted him last month. The 6-1/205 Denton, Texas (Denton Guyer High School) prospect led the Wildcats to a convincing 47-14 win over Rockwall-Heath. Arnold, the Elite 11 MVP, led the offense by throwing for 204 yards and three touchdowns. On the opening drive he tossed a dime to Landon Sides for a 63-yard score and the Wildcats never looked back from there.

As a junior Arnold threw for 3,931 yards and 34 touchdowns as Denton Guyer reached the state title game in his first season as the starting quarterback. He entered his senior season, on Friday night, with a total of 4,061 career passing yards and 34 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. However, he’s more than just a strong arm. Arnold also flashed the other aspect of his game on Friday night, which is what he can do with his legs.

Arnold used his deceptive speed last season to run for 659 yards and 12 touchdowns, making him one of the top overall quarterback prospects in the nation. 247 has him ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 2 overall prospect from the state of Texas. He’s currently sitting on 25 scholarship offers and chose Oklahoma over the likes of Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.
