Friday Locks | Week 3

Clearly we’re still riding the struggle bus. Each of us posted a 1-2 record last week and we’re all sitting on a losing record through the first three weekends of the season. Good thing this is a sprint and not a marathon.

Last Week’s Picks

This Week’s Picks

Craig

Georgia (-24.5) at South Carolina | Pretty large spread here but Georgia is in my opinion the best team in the country, and South Carolina has not looked great by any means. The Gamecocks might keep it close early on, but I see Georgia running away with this one.

BYU (+3.5) at Oregon | I actually like BYU in this one. They beat Baylor a week ago and I think they’ll do the same to Oregon this weekend.

Texas (-12.5) vs. UTSA | Texas looked solid defensively in their one point loss to Alabama. I think they’ll get the offense going on Saturday to compliment the defense and win this one fairly easy.

Matt

South Carolina (+25) vs. Georgia | Hands down Georgia wins this game but came South Carolina keep it within the 25 points at home? I think there’s a legitimate possibility that they can. The Bulldogs can win this game by three touchdowns and a field goal and still not cover. I like those odds.

BYU (+3.5) at Oregon | BYU won me over with a gritty overtime win against Baylor last week. Yes, this week they’re on the road but the last time we saw Oregon play a ranked opponent it ended in disaster for the Ducks.

Ole Miss (-17) at Georgia Tech | This spread is at 17 and I honestly can’t believe it’s that close. I just don’t see the Yellow Jackets having the personnel to keep pace with Lane Kiffin’s offense. Ole Miss is averaging 43.5 points per game while giving up just 6.5.

Zack

Oklahoma (-11) at Nebraska | I should know better than to pick on an Oklahoma game, simply because they tend to do the opposite of what I choose, but I really feel like this could easily turn into a blowout. Scott Frost is out in Nebraska, and the Cornhuskers are going to get embarrassed at home.

UTSA (+12.5) at Texas |  Texas looked pretty dang good last week against Alabama, but they’re still overrated in my mind, and I don’t see this being a double-digit game. The Longhorns should win, but don’t sleep on the Road Runners.

USC (-13.5) vs. Fresno State | I cannot stand USC, and that was before Lincoln Riley, so it pains me to even make a pick on their game, but the Trojans have looked solid thus far, and Fresno State simply cannot keep this to within a couple touchdowns.
