Oklahoma’s 2025 recruiting class is taking off! The Sooners currently have ten verbal commitments in a group that ranks fifth nationally, per 247Sports. If the latest forecasts are an indication of what’s to come, then the class is going grow and do so exponentially. Since the first of February, there have been 11 crystal ball predictions by 247Sports recruiting experts that favor Oklahoma. The latest in the onslaught of favorable predictions was Weatherford’s CJ Nickson who was predicted by Steve Wiltfong who is the Director of Football Recruiting for 247.
Incredibly athletic, Nickson (6-5/220) is a two-sport star, receiving scholarship offers in both basketball and in football. He stars on both sides of the ball on the gridiron. His speed and athleticism make quarterbacks an easy target to hit and his size makes him crazy difficult to cover when he releases for a passing route from the tight end position.
Touchdown Eagles!!!! What a catch by Cj Nickson to give Weatherford a 13-0 lead midway though the first quarter. #Pioneercellular pic.twitter.com/EfWheaM6Fn

The fact that Miguel Chavis is leading his recruitment to OU tells us what we need to know about which side of the ball the Sooners would like for Nickson to be on. 247Sports has him rated as the No. 11 edge rusher in the 2025 class and the composite No. 2 overall prospect from the state of Oklahoma. Heading into his final season of high school ball, the 4-star recruit has already received 11 scholarship offers, including Auburn, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.
