Individual Thoughts
Caleb
1 Georgia | Pure dominance from the dawgs. They looked untouchable on both sides of the ball.
2 Ole Miss | Ole miss picked up right where they left off last week. This offense looks unstoppable.
3 Texas | Texas is doing a great job at living up to the preseason hype. They walked into Michigan and flexed that SEC power.
4 Alabama
5 Missouri
6 Tennessee
7 Oklahoma
8 Texas A&M
9 LSU
10 Auburn
11 Florida
12 Vanderbilt
13 Kentucky
14 South Carolina
15 Arkansas: While Arkansa almost pulled off the upset the Hogs looked completely lost in the 2nd half.
16 Mississippi State: Not sure if this Mississippi State team will be able to do much against SEC teams. They need to be able to open up the run game.
Craig
1. Georgia | The Bulldogs had an easy one in week two with a matchup against Tennessee Tech. They did exactly as they should have and dominated.
2. Texas | The Longhorns jumped up to the second spot for me after a big win over Michigan. Michigan definitely isn’t the team they were a year ago, but Texas still went into Ann Arbor and left with a huge win.
3. Tennessee | Tennessee put up one of the most dominating performances in week two which bumps them up several spots for me. Time will tell, but the Volunteers look like the real deal.
4. Alabama
5. Ole Miss
6. Oklahoma
7. Missouri
8. LSU
9. Texas A&M
10. South Carolina
11. Florida
12. Kentucky
13. Arkansas
14. Vanderbilt
15. Auburn | The Tigers went scoreless in the second and third quarter in their loss to Cal. Cal doesn’t strike me as a really great team, and losing to them at home makes it even worse.
16. Mississippi State | Mississippi State got outclassed by a middle of the pack Big 12 team. Could be a long inaugural season for new Head Coach Jeff Lebby.
Matt
1. Georgia | The Bulldogs used their game against Tennessee Tech to evaluate their bench players, with Gunnar Stockton and Branson Robinson making notable contributions. Coach Smart emphasized the importance of developing depth for future challenges.
2. Alabama | The Tide ended up winning big, but they committed three turnovers and were flagged 13 times for 120 yards.
3. Ole Miss | It was only Middle Tennessee State, but the Rebels posted 655 total yards of offense.
4. Texas
5. Oklahoma
6. Tennessee
7. Missouri
8. LSU
9. Texas A&M
10. South Carolina
11. Auburn
12. Vanderbilt
13. Kentucky
14. Florida
15. Arkansas | Mistakes helped the Razorbacks give away a game they had firmly in control.
16. Mississippi State | The Bulldogs were pushed around on both sides of the line of scrimmage by Arizona State.
Zack
1. Georgia | No change here after an easy win over a bad team. They should be 3-0 after this weekend when they travel to Kentucky.
2. Texas | The Longhorns are really more like 1b than they are 2 in the SEC right now. Despite the slow start, they looked outright dominant against Michigan at the Big House.
3. Ole Miss | Another easy win for the Rebels against a clearly lesser opponent. Maybe Wake Forest can give them some competition this weekend.
4. Alabama
5. Tennessee
6. Missouri
7. LSU
8. Oklahoma
9. Texas A&M
10. Arkansas
11. Florida
12. Vanderbilt
13. South Carolina
14. Auburn
15. Kentucky | South Carolina looked like the worst team in the SEC after a close win over Old Dominion in Week 1, but the Wildcats were embarrassed at home by the Gamecocks in a bad way.
16. Mississippi State | Arizona State isn’t very good, but the Bulldogs made them look pretty solid. Could be a long year for Mississippi State.
