The Oklahoma Sooners kicked off their 2024-2025 basketball season with a dominant 93-60 victory over Lindenwood. Led by a strong performance from returning star Jalon Moore, the Sooners showcased their offensive firepower and defensive intensity.
Moore was the leading scorer for Oklahoma, finishing with 22 points on efficient shooting. His improved three-point shooting was particularly impressive, as he knocked down three shots from beyond the arc. Moore’s ability to score from both inside and outside the arc makes him a valuable asset for the Sooners.
Freshman sensation Jeremiah Fears also made a significant impact, contributing 16 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Fears’ ability to score, pass, and defend makes him a potential breakout star for Oklahoma.
Sam Godwin was 5/6 from the floor, finishing with 11 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double. Oklahoma’s bench produced 29 points, the Sooners also recorded 29 points off fast breaks. They 8 second-chance points, and scored 14 points off turnovers. The 29 bench points has to be the most positive sign, marking a strong improvement from last season.
The Sooners’ revamped roster, featuring several key transfers, looked impressive in their season opener. Duke Miles, Brycen Goodine, Mohamed Wague, and Kobe Elvis all contributed to the victory.
With a talented roster and a promising start to the season, the Oklahoma Sooners are poised to make a significant impact in their inaugural season in the SEC.
