Oklahoma Softball’s dominance on the diamond continues to be reflected in postseason accolades, as the Sooners tied for the national lead with four players named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Americans, announced Wednesday. Sophomores Ella Parker and Kasidi Pickering earned First Team honors, senior pitcher Sam Landry was placed on the Second Team, and standout freshman Gabbie Garcia received Third Team recognition. Additionally, junior second baseman Ailana Agbayani became the second Sooner ever to earn the Rawlings Gold Glove Award at her position.
The honors reinforce Oklahoma’s dynasty under head coach Patty Gasso, who has now coached 88 of the program’s 89 all-time All-Americans. The Sooners have had at least four NFCA All-Americans in seven straight seasons and multiple First Team selections every year since 2017. Parker, who earned her second career All-American nod, led the team with a .416 batting average while slugging 13 home runs and driving in 49. Pickering, one of the hottest hitters in the postseason, tallied 18 homers and 56 RBIs on the year, thriving after moving into the leadoff role. Landry, a key transfer, capped off a dominant season in the circle with a 23-4 record, 170 strikeouts, and four saves, while Garcia exploded onto the scene with 20 home runs and an elite defensive presence at shortstop.
Agbayani’s defensive consistency made her a Gold Glove standout with just one error all season and a spot on the SEC All-Defensive Team. She also chipped in at the plate with a .336 average and 35 RBIs. The All-American accolades arrive as the Sooners prepare to open the 2025 Women’s College World Series on Thursday, May 29, against No. 7 seed Tennessee at 1:30 p.m. CT on ESPN. Oklahoma, the No. 2 national seed, enters the WCWS seeking its fifth consecutive national championship with its core of award-winning talent ready to lead the charge.
