Oklahoma Softball Unveils Fall 2025 Slate, Offering Fans First Look at Reloaded Roster

The leaves haven’t started to turn just yet, but Oklahoma Softball is already pointing toward October at Love’s Field. On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the program unveiled its 2025 fall schedule, and with it comes the first opportunity for fans to see the latest edition of Patty Gasso’s powerhouse.

The Sooners will take the field for six exhibition contests this fall, highlighted by five intra-squad Battle Series dates and a pair of matchups against outside opponents — a road trip to East Texas A&M (Oct. 7) and a home tilt against Oklahoma Christian (Oct. 15). All home games at Love’s Field will begin at 6:30 p.m. and, as always, will be open to the public.

For Oklahoma fans who watched the Sooners capture an SEC double crown last spring but fall just short of a national championship run, the fall slate represents a new chapter — one that blends familiar stars with headline transfer additions and the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class.

Tickets and Fan Access

General admission tickets are set at $10 per game and are available immediately through the OU Athletics Ticket Office as well as on site at the gate. New this fall is the “All Fall Pack”, a $50 package that grants admission to every fall contest, giving fans a cost-saving way to see the entire schedule.

For those who prefer a premium experience, current 2026 season ticket holders in loge boxes and four-top seating areas will have priority access to their spots for fall games. The athletic department has indicated that additional premium seating opportunities may be released before the first Battle Series contest.

OU has also emphasized fan accessibility and safety, noting that the clear-bag policy will remain in effect and walk-through metal detectors will be in place at Love’s Field. The box office opens one hour before first pitch, and group ticket options are available through the ticket office as well.

Unlike spring competition, these games will not be streamed. That means fall ball provides a unique incentive for fans to make the trip in person to see the Sooners’ early development.

A Loaded Roster

Oklahoma enters the 2026 campaign with one of the deepest rosters in college softball. Thirteen players return from last year’s 52-9 team, including All-Americans:

  • Ella Parker – NFCA First Team
  • Kasidi Pickering – NFCA First Team
  • Gabbie Garcia – NFCA Second Team
  • Ailana Agbayani – Gold Glove winner
  • Plus three others who earned national recognition

The Sooners not only claimed the SEC regular-season and tournament titles in their first year in the league but also advanced to their ninth straight Women’s College World Series semifinal. Their offense was historic, blasting 121 home runs (marking the sixth straight season over 100) and finishing near the top nationally in on-base percentage and slugging percentage.

Better yet, the production pipeline remains intact. Oklahoma brings back:

  • 82.6% of its home runs (100 of 121)
  • 87.1% of hits
  • 85.9% of runs
  • 83.6% of RBIs
  • 84.8% of total bases

With that kind of returning firepower, plus an injection of new talent, the Sooners will once again enter the spring season as one of the top contenders for the national title.

Transfer Impact: Berzon and Guachino

The most immediate roster storylines revolve around the pitching staff. OU lost reliever Paytn Monticelli to LSU this offseason, but the Sooners upgraded in the transfer portal with two of the biggest names available:

  • Sydney Berzon (LSU) – A two-time NFCA All-American who posted All-SEC honors in three consecutive seasons. She logged 139.1 innings in 2024 with a 2.46 ERA and 185 strikeouts. On3 ranked her as the No. 1 transfer in the country.
  • Miali Guachino (Ole Miss) – A D1Softball Freshman All-American who helped Ole Miss reach the Women’s College World Series. She pitched 136 innings in 2024 with a 3.65 ERA and 160 strikeouts, landing on the NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 25 Watch List.

The addition of Berzon and Guachino provides immediate experience and proven production, shoring up a staff that already includes left-handers Kierston Deal and Audrey Lowry.

Top Recruiting Class

As has become routine under Gasso, Oklahoma also signed the No. 1-ranked recruiting class during the 2025 signing period. That haul includes Sophia Bordi, who will rejoin the program in 2026 after missing the upcoming season, as well as freshmen Allyssa Parker and Berkley Zache.

Add in the nation’s top-ranked position recruits — outfielder Kai Minor, catcher Kendall Wells, and infielder Lexi McDaniel — and the Sooners’ depth chart looks as balanced as it has in recent memory.

What to Watch This Fall

The fall slate may not count in the standings, but it will carry plenty of intrigue:

  • Pitching Development: How quickly can Berzon and Guachino settle in, and how will they be deployed alongside Deal and Lowry? Fans will get their first look in October.
  • Offensive Depth: With Parker, Pickering, and Garcia leading a veteran lineup, which of the new faces force their way into the rotation early?
  • Defensive Continuity: Agbayani’s Gold Glove presence at shortstop provides stability, but how will the defensive alignments shake out as Gasso tinkers with combinations?
  • Battle Series Storylines: The intra-squad scrimmages aren’t just exhibitions. They often provide a glimpse at the depth chart battles heading into spring.

A First Look at 2026

Ultimately, the fall schedule offers Oklahoma fans something priceless: a first look at what could be another championship-caliber roster. The Sooners’ balance of returning stars, high-level transfers, and blue-chip recruits makes this one of the deepest and most experienced groups in the country.

For a fan base that has grown accustomed to filling Love’s Field deep into June, the chance to watch early progress in October and November serves as both a celebration of the program’s continuity and a sneak peek at the road ahead.

If last year was about proving Oklahoma could dominate in the SEC, this fall is about setting the tone for a run at national title No. 8. And it all begins under the lights at Love’s Field this October.
