The ballots are in from Caleb, Craig and Matt, and our Week 4 SEC Power Rankings reflect one of the busiest Saturdays yet. We compile these rankings by having each of us rank all 16 SEC teams from top to bottom. Those positions are then converted to points (lowest total = highest rank) and combined into a composite order. In other words, it’s a true “power poll” — not just one person’s opinion. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the full composite list and where each voter placed every team.
A couple of things stand out this week. For the first time this season there are no ties anywhere in the rankings, which gives us a clean, decisive order from No. 1 to No. 16. We’re also completely unanimous in two spots: Georgia at No. 1 — no surprise after the Bulldogs’ win at Tennessee — and Vanderbilt at No. 11, a random but intriguing consensus as the Commodores quietly keep winning. Beyond that, there’s plenty of movement. We were close to agreeing on Oklahoma at No. 2 and LSU at No. 3, and the top five overall is relatively stable. But there’s still big divergence farther down: Caleb has Auburn as high as No. 8, Craig has Mississippi State at 14, and Matt vaults Alabama to No. 6 while the others keep the Tide lower. Those differences make for some interesting jumps and slides in the composite rankings.

Comparing Week 3 to Week 4
Week 4’s composite poll shows some notable shuffling compared to a week ago. Oklahoma leapfrogs LSU into the No. 2 spot after its dominant road win at Temple, while LSU slides to No. 3 despite staying unbeaten. Texas A&M makes the biggest jump in the top five, climbing from sixth to fourth on the strength of its wild win at Notre Dame, pushing Texas down a notch. Farther down, South Carolina takes the biggest tumble—from seventh to 13th—while Ole Miss edges ahead of Alabama at No. 7 after another win. Missouri, Auburn and Mississippi State all inch upward as the middle of the league continues to tighten, but Vanderbilt holds steady at No. 11 and Kentucky remains at the bottom for a second straight week. It’s the kind of shake-up that reflects just how unpredictable the SEC middle tier has been through three games.
Caleb
1. Georgia | Gunner Stockton proved to all of college football he can lead this Georgia team to new hights this season. Especially if this defense keeps playing lights out.
2. Oklahoma | Oklahoma has proven they have one of the best, if not the best, defenses in the country, and with John Mateer playing the way he is, this Sooner team looks to be a top dog in the SEC
3. LSU | The Tigers were gifted a win with Florida throwing 5 picks. The LSU offense looked sluggish Saturday. They will need to find some rhythm if they want have a shot at the SEC title game.
4. Texas A&M
5. Texas
6. Ole Miss
7. Tennessee
8. Aubrun
9. Alabama
10. Missouri
11. Vanderbilt
12. Mississippi State
13. South Carolina
14. Arkansas
15. Florida | DJ Lagway threw the game away on Saturday, throwing 4 picks. If Florida wants to get back on track he needs to be better
16. Kentucky | The Wildcats played well against Eastern Michigan. Seth McGowan looked really impressive, if Kentucky can play like this against South Carolina they have a real chance at an upset.
Craig
1. Georgia | After beating Tennessee on the road, the Bulldogs now have the most impressive win in the conference.
2. LSU | The Tigers took care of business against Florida. However, they managed to only score 20 points despite the defense recording 5 interceptions. The offense certainly hasn’t been great through three weeks.
3. Oklahoma | The Sooners have one of the best defenses in the country, and they finally have an energetic and explosive offense to go with it. This week we find out more about Oklahoma as they take on Auburn.
4. Texas
5. Texas A&M
6. Tennessee
7. Ole Miss
8. Missouri
9. Alabama
10. Auburn
11. Vanderbilt
12. South Carolina
13. Arkansas
14. Mississippi State
15. Kentucky | Solid win for the Wildcats over Eastern Michigan. However, not enough to get out of the bottom of the pack.
16. Florida | The Gators have now scored just 26 points this season against FBS teams. Just a brutal start as they’ll head to play Miami next.
Matt
1. Georgia | Survived a shootout at Tennessee 44–41. Giving up 41 points isn’t ideal, but the Bulldogs beat a ranked SEC opponent on the road and remain No. 1.
2. Oklahoma | Comfortable 42–3 win at Temple. OU stays ahead of LSU with a solid road performance.
3. LSU | Tigers win 20–10 over Florida. Defense looks strong, offense still uneven.
4. Texas A&M
5. Texas
6. Alabama
7. Tennessee
8. Ole Miss
9. Missouri
10. Mississippi State
11. Vanderbilt
12. Auburn
13. South Carolina
14. Florida
15. Arkansas | Fought Ole Miss but still lost. Florida’s résumé is weaker, but Hogs haven’t beaten anyone of note.
16. Kentucky | Beat Eastern Michigan 48–23 but earlier struggles (Toledo, loss to Ole Miss) keep them at the bottom.
