Why the Thunder Will Cover (-16.5)
Big spreads like this are dangerous in the NBA, but the OKC looks unstoppable, and Charlotte is playing in the second game of a back-to-back after an overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks last night. Even though the Thunder isn’t quite healthy, the Hornets turn the ball over at a high rate, which means easy points for the best defense in the NBA. I see this one being a true blowout win.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (225.5)
Point totals have been tricky for the Thunder, considering their ability to take care of teams early. I expect a dominant win with plenty of scoring by OKC—perhaps another fourth quarter rest for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—but I think the score will barely tip over the total.
