The Oklahoma Sooners picked up their third 2018 commitment on Sunday in the form of a 4-star quarterback. Just two weeks after making a tour of campus visits, Cameron Rising (Newbury Park, CA) decided to make his decision to don the crimson and cream for his collegiate career.

Ranked as a Top 5 pro-style quarterback by 24/7 sports, Rising has drawn twenty offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Penn State, TCU, UCLA and others. It was his draw to Lincoln Riley’s offense that ultimately landed him in Norman and set him up as the premier recruit in the 2018 class.

However, Sunday’s news also means that 4-star quarterback and Sooner Legacy Casey Thompson will not be following in the footsteps of his dad and older brother by coming to play football for Oklahoma. Thompson has more than a dozen scholarship offers to choose from himself, including Big 12 foes Oklahoma State and West Virginia.
