2016 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 26 Days!

26Days

Oklahoma linebacker Jordan Evans is looking to finish his Sooner career as the leader of a talented but rebuilding offense. Having seen teammates Dominique Alexander and Eric Striker depart for the NFL it’ll be up to Evans to lead a new crop of linebackers into battle this fall.

A Second Team All-Big 12 selection in 2015, Evans has racked up 176 tackles (11.5 for loss), a sack, an interception, three forced fumbles, and eight pass breakups in two years as a starter. As impressive as those numbers are just imagine how much could have been added to them had he not missed two games in 2015.

A hometown hero from Norman North High School, Evans (6-2/235) was a three-star recruit who also served as his team’s kick returner as well as defensive star. He drew offers from Air Force, Colorado State, Navy and UNLV but chose to follow his father’s footsteps (Scott Evans was a three-time all-Big Eight defensive tackle) and play at the University of Oklahoma.
