Oklahoma’s pipeline to California continues to supply a solid dividend of top-notch football recruits. On Wednesday afternoon Hayward, CA outside linebacker Addison Gumbs announced his commitment to play his college ball for the Sooners.

At 6-3/211, Gumbs is ranked as a 4-Star recruit and the #4 overall outside linebacker prospect in the 2017 class. Not only does he have great size but his speed off the edge will remind a lot of Oklahoma fans, and opponents, of Eric Striker.
Adding him undoubtedly makes an already rising 2017 class for Oklahoma all the more stronger. Gumbs was literally recruited by everyone on the West Coast and Midwest and has 27 scholarship offers in hand going into his senior year. Among the schools offering are Arizona, Arkansas, Cal, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, and Washington.
For Oklahoma to be able to go behind the lines and snatch this kid out of the Pac-12 speaks volumes to the momentum the Sooners currently have in recruiting.
