Coming out of Bishop Gorman High School, Demarco Murray had a hype machine that was almost bigger than his on the field production. In fact USC and then coach Pete Carroll believed that Murray would be better suited to play defensive back.
Murray proudly wore number 7 while in Norman and his 3,685 yards rushing yards and 50 rushing touchdowns blew that idea out of the water that he would be a better fit at running back.
The scary thing about Murray’s career in Norman was that he was never truly healthy, with lingering injuries seemingly always nagging him throughout his time in Norman.
