Sooners And Cowboys Both Drop In AP Poll

Obi
No one ever said that it was supposed to make any sense and therefore the polling system in college football remains a great mystery at times. Oklahoma lost their season opener and Oklahoma State won yet both teams dropped in this week’s AP Poll.
The Sooners fell down eleven spots to #14 and the Cowboys slid backwards one spot to #22. Keeping up with the trend of sliding, TCU also went backwards to #15 but the Texas Longhorns jumped in the poll, for the first time this season, at #11. Baylor held steady at #23.
Eleven spots was a big dive for the Sooners but it wasn’t the biggest of the week as LSU dropped from #5 all the way down to #21 following their loss to Wisconsin.
