Oklahoma State had some salt poured in the wounds on Sunday afternoon when the latest AP Poll revealed that the Cowboys had been dropped from the Top 25. The news comes on the heels of a controversial loss to Central Michigan where CMU was erroneously awarded an untimed down. Central Michigan made the most of the opportunity with a 51-yard play to win the game.
The Oklahoma Sooners remained at #14 after thrashing Louisiana-Monroe 59-17 on Saturday night. While there were some significant signs of improvement with Oklahoma, over their week one performance, there’s also nothing in Saturday night’s opponent that would have warranted a bump up in the polls. Next week is a different story though.
The Texas Longhorns remain the top ranked team in the Big 12 at #11, followed by Oklahoma at #14, and Baylor at #21. TCU joins Oklahoma State in falling out of this week’s poll following their overtime loss to Arkansas.
The biggest drop in the poll this week goes to the Georgia Bulldogs who fell from #9 to #16 after an unimpressive 26-24 win over Nicholls State.
