It’s no secret that 5-star DT Marvin Wilson (6-4/320 from Houston, TX) is probably the most important recruit left on the Sooners recruiting board. While importance doesn’t guarantee that Wilson will sign with the Sooners on National Signing Day, it goes without saying that landing Wilson along with the current 2017 commits and leans would make this the best recruiting class on paper in Bob Stoops tenure. Wilson could quite possible end up being an OU/Texas battle.
The story is similar with Jeffrey Okudah (6-1/190 from Grand Prairie, TX). Okudah is not unlike former Florida State and current NFL DB Jalen Ramsey. While many seem to think Okudah is leaning towards Ohio State, I’m not quite sure he is a lock to wind up in Columbus. Most consider Okudah to either land at either Ohio State or the Sooners. So it goes without saying that the Sooners beating Ohio State tomorrow would go a long ways to helping curb the Ohio State rumors.
So to answer the question in the title of this article, I would say that should the Sooners beat Ohio State and the Texas Longhorns, then Marvin Wilson likely ends up a Sooner. Okudah is a much tougher read, but it can never hurt to beat the top team contending for his services. Both players will be in Norman this weekend for an official visit.
