Baylor struggles early but pulls away in the second half to just cover the point spread.

Kansas has an ugly showing at Memphis. I really want to the Jayhawks to turn the corner, but I just don’t see any way they can stay on the field with the Tigers

Texas Tech covers but will have to score over 60 to do so. Their defense is THAT bad.

Zack

Texas (-8) @ Cal: I’m still not convinced that Texas is “back,” but I do think this is the best Longhorn squad under Charlie Strong’s reign. The fact that this game is in California is the only reason that the spread isn’t double digits.

Baylor (-30.5) @ Rice: Even with all the drama going on in Waco, Baylor is still capable of scoring big points, and the Owls are bad. REALLY bad. The Bears probably won’t win by 50 last year, but a 30-40 point margin of victory looks probable.

Kansas State (-22.5) vs. FAU: Bill Snyder’s Wildcats put up a fight against Stanford in Week 1, and after an extra week of preparation, they should easily cover the spread against a weak Florida Atlantic team.

Craig

Texas Tech (-10.5) vs. La. Tech

The Red Raiders defense looked anything but good last Saturday. However, I think the offense gets it done for them this week.

Texas (-8) @ Cal

I am starting to believe that Texas might be the real deal this year. I expect the Longhorns to win by two touchdowns Saturday.

Pitt (+6) @ OSU

I think the Cowboys will be a little rattled from the upset last weekend in Stillwater. Like many other people, I am a big fan of James Connor. I think he will be the difference maker.

Matt

Baylor (-30.5) @ Rice

I’m not completely sold on the Bears just yet but you can’t deny they have one of the more high-powered offenses in the Big 12. Rice, on the other hand, has no defense and are limited on offense.

Pitt (+6) @ Oklahoma State

The thing that I believe is being overlooked in the OSU fiasco from last week is that the Cowboys played terrible against Central Michigan. OSU’s inability to run the football and give Mason Rudolph time to set up for the deep ball were exposed in a bad way.

TCU (-24) vs. Iowa State

Both teams have had their share of defensive struggles this season but the Frogs are light-years ahead of the Cyclones in just about every aspect of the game.
