Oklahoma DT/DE Charles Walker Won’t Play Against Texas

As the Sooners prepare to face a physical Texas Longhorns team in Dallas on Saturday morning, they’ll be without one of their most physical players. Defensive tackle Charles Walker won’t be available to play in the game after suffering a concussion in last weekend’s 52-46 win over TCU.

Walker, a 6-2/204 redshirt junior from Garland, Texas, was widely speculated to be a first round pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He was a 3-star recruit by 247Sports coming out of high school, in 2013, and was the #75 ranked player in the state of Texas by ESPN. He’s recorded seven tackles this season, with two of them being for loss.

Oklahoma will also be without Matt Dimon on the defensive line but Bob Stoops said that he is expecting redshirt junior DJ Ward to be back this week. The absence of Walker and Dimon means that senior Austin Roberts and redshirt freshman Nevile Gallimore will be called upon again.
