It’s been no secret that 2017 DT Austin Faoliu 6-4/295 has been a hot commodity on the recruiting market. Austin has picked up offers from Ole Miss, Michigan State, TCU, Texas, and the Sooners to name a few.

Faoliu had been committed to Arizona for awhile, but just a few moments ago he tweeted out that he had officially de-committed. Here is the tweet.

Faoliu (who’s last name is pronounced like Value, but with an F) should visit the Sooners before National Signing Day. It’s possible for this to happen this weekend, but the weather might lead to it being rescheduled.

Faoliu is a very versatile player for the Sooners, capable of playing inside at DT, but also could slide out and play defensive end in the Sooners 3-4.

While the Sooners should have a battle on their hands for Faoliu, this is a battle they can win. Faoliu would be a welcome addition to the Sooners class of 2017.
