Women’s Basketball | Sooners Hand Longhorns Their 1st Conference Loss

The pinks jersey’s quite possibly aided in the Sooners turning in an incredible performance, as the Sooner ladies handed the Longhorn ladies their first conference loss. Here are several keys to that led to the big win. The  victory improved the Sooners to 21-6 on the season (12-3 in the conference).

BALANCED SCORING

The Sooners had four players score in double figures, led by junior center Vionise Pierre-Louis who finished with 21 points (8 for 12 from the floor). No shot however, was as big as Peyton Little’s  3 (she finished with 15 points).

SOONERS DEFENSE

The Longhorns were held to 39.7% from the field (27 for 68) and forced 15 turnovers. In a game that featured 16 lead changes and was back in forth for the entire game, holding a team to under 40% shooting and forcing 15 turnovers.

This victory of the Longhorns likely means that the Sooners end up the 3 seed in the Big 12. The Sooners will now hit the road for consecutive games against Kansas State and TCU, before the season finale against the Baylor Bears.
