Entering the 2017 season, Mayfield has been tabbed a top Heisman contender second only to Sam Darnold. With a high profile quarterback, news swirls quickly as do the jokes and rumors. At this current point in time, the Fayetteville Police Department has not released an official report. Expect that to come on Monday morning when Mayfield is schedule to appear in court for a Rule 8.1 hearing.
On the other hand, the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department has been made aware of the situation. They responded by saying, “We are aware of the matter and are learning the details. We don’t have any other information at this time.”
