Last season, the Big XII secured seven spots in the NCAA Tournament. Fast forward to this season and it appears as though that number is set to dwindle to potentially five. With two consecutive wins this past week, the Oklahoma State Cowboys move to 20-9 overall. At this point, it’s safe to say that the Cowboys will be one of the programs representing the Big XII in post season play.

Hitting the coveted 20-win mark with victories over Kansas State and Texas Tech this past week, O-State has the opportunity to improve their seeding. They’ll square up against No. 24 Iowa State on Tuesday evening with a final pairing against No. 1 Kansas this weekend. Earning just one win this week could push the Cowboys up the ladder.

Here’s how the seeding currently breaks down according to Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology:

Sporting a 10-2 record over the past twelve outings, Lunardi has Oklahoma State headed to the Midwest Region in Salt Lake City. Sitting on a No. 6 seed as things currently stand, the Cowboys draw a favorable matchup — a play-in winner.

Of course none of this is set in stone. There’s still a week of the regular season left to play alongside conference tournaments. How will things shake out when the dust settles? We’ll have to wait and see.
