The young Oklahoma Sooners took on a struggling TCU Horned Frogs squad in Norman without Rashard Odomes. Filling the void, Christian James stepped in to a starting role. Set to start at 2:00 PM, the two programs found themselves in a deadlock at 66-66 wth 1:09 remaining in regulation. In bounding the ball Kameron McGusty, the Horned Frogs elected to foul setting fans up for a defensive showcase.

As McGusty knocked down both attempts at the charity stripe, the Horned Frogs needed to put points on the board. A failed jump shot ended the threat while sending Jordan Shepherd to the free throw line at the other end.  Again, knocking down both attempts, the Sooners took a four point lead with 22 seconds to put all the pressure on TCU.

While Vlad Brodziansky managed to score late, it simply wasn’t enough. Coming up with a block on Desmond Bane with four seconds to go, the Sooners’ Khadeem Lattin ended any chance of TCU pulling out the win. The final? 73-68!

Oklahoma collected a fifth conference win while securing the 9th seed in the conference tournament pending a complete meltdown from Baylor later. With the win, OU remained undefeated when playing TCU in Norman.

Leading the scoring charge was none other than McGusty. Behind 22 points in 35 minutes, the freshman continues to shine. On the defensive end, Lattin recorded five blocks to make his presence known flashing the dominance many expected throughout the year.
