With the 2017 recruiting class, the Oklahoma Sooners placed an importance upon in-state prospects. It was a move that paid off resulting in one of the nation’s top classes. Now, looking forward to 2018, it appears as though OU is sticking those same terms.

The No. 6 recruit in Oklahoma, 3-star Patrick Fields, has officially committed to play for the Oklahoma Sooners. While nothing is official until ink has hit the paper, the Tulsa native is next in a long line of former Union Redskins who have committed to play in Norman in the past. Sending out a few words to those sitting on the fence, Fields encouraged others to “Come join us before you get beat by us!”
Helping the Redskins to a 6AI State Championship last year, Fields hopes to build upon his resume as a senior. Currently holding offers from Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Texas, Arkansas and the like, the Sooners have won out.
