After playing nineteen consecutive games at home the Sooners were on the road for the first time Tuesday, playing Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The result was an epic pitcher’s duel in which OU game out on the short end.

Starter Dylan Grove kept the Yellow Jackets off the board through six innings of work. Limiting Tech to just four hits, Grove was able to work his way out of a few jams but the pitching from the other dugout was equally impressive.

The Yellow Jackets finally broke the stalemate in the seventh thanks to shortstop Austin Wilhite who hit an RBI double and then came around to score himself. A 2-0 deficit typically wouldn’t be an issue for Oklahoma’s offense but the Sooners were limited to just four hits, and held scoreless, by Georgia Tech’s Ben Schniederjans and Jay Shadday who picked up his first win of the season.

The Sooners will remain in Atlanta on Wednesday for a game against Georgia Stare. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
