Lon Kruger has his first basketball commitment for the 2018 class and it’s a big one. On Sunday afternoon 6-3/170 shooting guard Jamal Bieniemy made his pledge of commitment to the Sooners.
Ranked as the nation’s 19th overall shooting guard, and the 7th best basketball recruit in the state of Texas, Bieniemy weighed offers from Creighton, LSU, and Oklahoma State before committing to Oklahoma.
With Christian James and Rashard Odomes just finishing up their sophomore years. Bieniemy’s commitment comes at a great time for Lon Kruger to replenish a vital position within his system. It’s also worth noting that both Odomes and James are also from the state of Texas, giving Kruger a Texas trifecta at shooting guard.
Bieniemy is a great start for Oklahoma’s 2018 class that comes on the heels of a 2017 group that was highlighted by 5-star point guard Trae Young (Norman, OK) and 4-star power forward Brady Manek (Harrah, OK).
