Fourth Best Win | 2008 vs Texas Tech | 65-21 Final

In 2008, fans knew the Big 12 possessed quite a bit of talent. With a marquee matchup in Norman, the Oklahoma Sooners hosted the No. 2 Texas Tech Red Raiders. Expected to be a nail-biter, Bob Stoops’ team clung to a 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. However, no one really anticipated the explosion following from the OU offense.

In the final three quarters, Oklahoma raced upwards to 625 total yards of offense thanks to DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown eclipsing the 100-yard barrier on the ground. Sam Bradford attempted a mere 14 passes on 19 attempts while collecting 304 yards himself. Blowing the doors wide open, 85,000 screaming fans witnessed a 65-21 rout leading to one of the most memorable moments of Stoops’ tenure — jump around.

However, the Sooners couldn’t be counted out with the return of Adrian Peterson and a potent offense.

Battling neck and neck throughout the entire Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma finally found a break when they intercepted a pass. Collecting a bit of momentum, OU returned the interception 34-yards to take a seven point lead in the fourth quarter. Yet, the game moved into overtime as Boise State answered as the unthinkable happened…
