Shortly after the Oklahoma State Cowboys agreed to a five-year contract with Head Coach Mike Gundy, the university received more good news. Looking to fill out the 2018 recruiting class, the coaching staff received their third verbal commitment in the month of June. The latest to pledge allegiance to the Pokes is 3-star Athlete, Gabriel Lemons.
Hailing from Coppell, Texas, the athlete stands 6-2 at 175-pounds. Hauling in 43 receptions as a junior in high school, the standout performer racked up 614 yards. Although offensive stats attract eyes, Lemons has proven capable of playing both sides of the ball. Giving a shout out to Tim Duffie, OSU’s Defensive Backs Coach, via twitter suggests Lemons could wind up in the secondary on the collegiate level.
However, O-State has a history of turning out top receivers. At 6-2 the athlete provides solid height for any quarterback looking to throw downfield. Couple that with the fact that James Washington will move on after this year and it’s easy to place this kid on the offensive side of the ball. At this point, only time will tell where Lemons lines up when the ball is snapped at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Lemons becomes the 15th verbal of the 2018 Class for the Pokes.
