Oklahoma Sooners Dimiss Chris Robison

Back in April of this year, early enrollee and quarterback, Chris Robison, found himself being arrested for public intoxication. After the event, the Oklahoma Sooners decided to handle the matter internally. Now, Robison has officially been dismissed from the program — a move announce by Head Coach Lincoln Riley

The afternoon before the arrest, the 4-star quarterback completed three passes for 49 yards in Oklahoma’s Annual Spring Game. Citing a violation of team rules as the reason for dismissal, questions remain unanswered. Was the move in conjunction with the arrest in April? Or was this the result of a separate incident?

The likes of Baker Mayfield, Austin Kendall, and Kyler Murray on the roster may have forced Robison into a redshirt season. But, in reality, the Mesquite, TX product would have competed for the starting position in 2018. Without a quarterback in the 2017 class, the Sooners will likely continue to reaffirm the commitment of Tanner Mordecai in the coming months.
