It was only preseason and ultimately won’t count for his career stats but former Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook made quite the impression on the NFL Thursday night when he hauled in a 42-yard touchdown pass to cap off a 7-play/81 yard scoring drive.
Dede is speedy.

Often you hear the talking heads saying that players can’t have the same success on the next level that they enjoyed in college. “The pro game is too fast, and everyone on an NFL roster was a star in college.” Turns out it may be Dede who is too fast, as noted by the fact that he was all alone behind the New England defense.
Westbrook’s touchdown came with just fourteen seconds remaining in the third quarter and put Jacksonville up by a score of 31-17. The Jaguars would go on to beat the Patriots 31-24 in the first preseason game for both teams.
It was the only catch of the night for Westbrook but it was definitely a memorable one.
