As tip-off to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 2017-18 season continues to creep up, we at the Thunder Guys will continue to drop some Thunder facts, statistics, and trivia via our Countdown to Tip-Off.

45 represents the percentage that the Thunder shot from the field last season (45.2% to be exact), which put them at 17th in the NBA. While this isn’t a terrible percentage for made shots, it isn’t great either, especially considering that only three other playoffs teams were worse.

Oklahoma City made some impressive offseason acquisitions, namely All-Star Paul George, so they should be able to spread the floor more effectively, which will create a higher quality shot selection all around.

If Oklahoma City can develop into a more effective jump shooting team while maintaining their ability to be effective in the paint, the Thunder could find themselves among the NBA’s offensive giants like the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets.
