Just before they play the biggest game of the year the Oklahoma Sooners picked up a big win in Columbus, Ohio. St. Francis De Sales standout linebacker Brian Asamoah Tweeted out that he’d be playing his college ball at OU.

At 6-1/210 the Columbus, Ohio native is ranked as a 3-start prospect by 247Sports. The recruiting site also has him ranked as the 36th overall outside linebacker prospect and the 24th best prospect from the state of Ohio.
Asamoah had made an unofficial visit to Oklahoma on July 29th and then returned with his family last weekend for the season opener against UTEP. Apparently the latest trip sealed the deal for Asamoah and his family as he would go on to place his verbal commitment less than a week later.

The Sooners won out over nearly thirty other schools that had offered Asamoah. Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Arizona were just a few of the programs knocking on his door. He becomes the first outside linebacker commitment and 19th overall commitment in a 2018 Oklahoma recruiting class that is currently ranked #9 by 247Sports.
