Storylines
Oklahoma was embarrassed by Ohio State in Norman last season but the Sooners used the 45-24 loss as motivation to run the table through the rest of the season. A Big 12 championship, Sugar Bowl win, and a nation’s best 11-game winning streak later OU is seeking redemption against the only team to beat them in the last 359 days.
The Buckeyes struggled out of the gate last week at Indiana before turning it on in the second half. The slow start resulted in some questioning Ohio State’s worthiness of their preseason ranking and pick as the favorite to win the Big 10.

Any top 5 matchup has multiple implications. Teams are already trying to jockey for position to get into the playoff conversation but someone is going to be left out. A loss in the Horseshoe could put one of these teams on the outside looking in.
Baker Mayfield is at the forefront of the Heisman race and J.T. Barrett is trying to throw his name in the hat. Both quarterbacks will be in the national spotlight tonight and both will have the opportunity either reap the benefits or suffer the consequences of their performances in a prime time game.
