Time is flying by and we are now just 38 days away from watching Thunder basketball. Coming off a of historic season last year, it’s exciting to think about what this team can do with added talent. However, we can’t forget about the returning talent.

Alex Abrines surprised a bunch of people last year with his impressive shooting from beyond the arc. Abrines brings energy to the court when he comes off the bench, but he also brings pretty efficient scoring.

Last season, he set the Thunder record for the most 3’s made in a season by a Thunder rookie. He passed James Harden for that record. Not only did he set the record, but he also shot an impressive 38% from the beyond the arc.

Anyone who shoots 38% percent from 3 in the NBA is having a good year. It’s an even more impressive stat coming from a rookie. When you consider the young age of Abrines, you can only assume this stat will improve.

If Alex Abrines can improve his shooting percentage as well as develop more of a defensive game, he will become a key part of this Thunder team in 2018. I think that could be exactly what this Thunder team needs. Bringing in new talents is always good, but you don’t have the same chemistry right away. If the Thunder can develop the young talent they have to go with the All-Stars they could be a dangerous team this year.
