Oklahoma Sooners Football | Injury Report 9.26.17

Despite being off this upcoming weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners received a bit of good news. According to Lincoln Riley, one player who has been hampered by an injury is expect to make a return. After being forced to the sideline during the Ohio State game, Will Johnson is set to rejoin the secondary according to reports.

Fans should be delighted to know that Jordan Thomas’ apart issues are nothing major. On Saturday, the cornerback could be seen lying on the field writhing in pain while clutching his ankle. It’s evident that Thomas suffered an ankle sprain against the Baylor Bears. The severity of the sprain remains in question as this secondary looks to hit full strength once again.

However, within the same breath, Matt Romar’s future remains unclear. The defensive lineman has the ability to wreak havoc for opposing offenses. Without Romar on the field against Baylor, there were noticeable deficiencies. Some of those decencies manifested themselves in an inability to pressure Zach Smith. Oklahoma excelled at stopping the run but the Bears elected to throw the ball 50 times over the course of four quarters.

With a championship run still in the cards, Sooner fans, players, and coaches alike hope to see Romar take the field sooner rather than later (no pun intended). For now, enjoy the weekend off as we get a glimpse of many other programs around the country.
